Windows Quick Format menu displayed after initializing the disk
  1. Right click the Windows Icon.
  2. Click Disk Management.
  3. Right click on the drive labelled “Not Initialized” and “Unknown”.
  4. Select “Initialize Disk”.
  5. Set the “Partition Style” to Master Boot Record for drives less than 2TB.
    1. Use GUID Partition Table for drives 2TB or larger.
  6. Click “OK”.
  7. Right-click the “Unallocated space”, and select the “New Simply Value” option.
  8. Click “Next” on the next 3 prompts.
  9. Set the “File system” to NTFS.
  10. Set “Value label” to the name you want for your new Shell Thunder.
  11. Check “Perform a quick format”.
  12. Uncheck “Enable file and folder compression”.
  13. Click “Next”.
  14. Click “Finish”.
